Denis Zhernokleyev

Denis Zhernokleyev is Senior Lecturer in Russian literature at Vanderbilt University. He holds a doctorate from Princeton University and a master’s from Yale Divinity School. His research interests include Russian literature, especially Dostoevsky, Tolstoy and Chekhov, the literary philosophy of Mikhail Bakhtin, and Russian religious philosophy. He is currently writing a book, provisionally titled Dostoevsky’s Apophatic Novel, which explores the poetic function of Dostoevsky’s apocalypticism.
