Walter Sisto
D’Youville University
Dr. Sisto is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies as well as a Catholic theologian at D’Youville University in Buffalo, NY. He received his Ph.D. in Theology from the University of St. Michaels College in Toronto in 2013. His expertise is in the theology of Sergius Bulgakov, and his research focuses on engaging Bulgakov’s Sophiology with contemporary issues and explicating Bulgakov’s thought. This interest has resulted in over a dozen peer-review articles and his 2017 book on Bulgakov’s Mariology published by Routledge. He also writes on how religion influences end-of-life choices. Dr. Sisto published two books on the topic that include his 2015 book Death and the World Religions and his forthcoming text Philosophical and Religious Perspectives on Bioethics which will be published in November 2022.
