Łukasz Leonkewich

Łukasz Leonkiewicz is a lecturer in philosophy at the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Warsaw and at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw. He teaches courses in the history of philosophy, logic, methodology and Latin. His research focuses on Byzantine thought, broadly defined, Byzantine culture, and the philosophy of religion. He is the author of the book "Russian Post-Renaissance," which explores contemporary Russian thought, presenting it in its religious (Sergey Horuzhy) and strictly philosophical (V. Bibikhin) perspectives. He also studies the intellectual tradition of Byzantium, particularly the Palaiologan Renaissance and the thought of St. Gregory Palamas. He has translated Palamas's treatise "150 Chapters" into Polish and published scholarly articles on the relationship between Christian thought and Neoplatonism. He also serves as the head of the Ecumenical Broadcasts Department of Polish Television, preparing cultural, philosophical, and religious programs, thus conducting outreach and educational activities for Polish Television. He is also an Orthodox deacon who serves at the Chapel of St. Gregory Peradze in Warsaw.
