Hanuš Nykl´s field of interest lies in the history of Russian culture, philosophy and religious life of the 19th and 20th century. He is author of two monographs, Slavophilism and Slavophile Paradigm in Russian Philosophy of the 19th Century (Praha 2016) and Religion in Russian culture (Červený Kostelec 2013). He is also editor of several collective volumes from his field of interest and translations concerning Russian philosophy and spiritual mind such as Institutions and personalities of Russian Interwar Emigration (Praha 2021) or Selected Chapters from Russian Thought of the 20th Century: N. O. Lossky, I. A. Ilin, S. I. Gessen, L. N. Gumilev (Praha 2018), and author of articles and book chapters in Czech, Russian, English, and German.
Hanuš Nykl holds a doctorate in Slavonic Literatures in the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Prague and a habilitaton in Slavonic Studies at the same university. He is Associate Professor at the Department of East European Studies, he is involved in Ph.D., MA and BC programs as a guarantor, teacher, and theses supervisor.
