Davor Džalto

University College Stockholm

Dr. Davor Džalto is Professor in Religion and Democracy at University College Stockholm. He is also President of The Institute for the Study of Culture and Christianity. His research focuses primarily on the exploration of human freedom and creativity, as metaphysical, political, as well as aesthetic concepts. As the author and editor he published twenty books and more than a hundred scholarly studies, essays and op-eds. Among his most recently published books are Orthodoxy and Anarchism: Contemporary Perspectives(Lexington/Fortress Academic, 2024), Orthodoxy and Fundamentalism (co-edited with G. Demacopoulos, Lexington/Fortress Academic, 2022), Beyond Capitalist Dystopia: Rethinking Freedom and Democracy in the Age of Global Capitalism (Routledge, 2022), Anarchy and the Kingdom of God: From Eschatology to Orthodox Political Theology and Back (Fordham University Press, 2021). As a practicing artist, he works primarily in the media of painting and printmaking.
